Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP Necdet İpekyüz has submitted a Parliamentary question and asked the number of Parliamentary questions submitted to the Parliament in the current 27th legislative term and the number of questions that have remained unanswered.
The Parliamentary question of the HDP MP has been answered by Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Süreyya Sadi Bilgiç.
According to the statistics shared by Bilgiç in response to İpekyüz's question, a total of 46,013 written Parliamentary questions were addressed to the Vice Presidents and MPs in the current legislative term.
'23,552 were answered with delay'
While 5,190 of the Parliamentary questions have been answered within the obligated time period, 23,552 have been answered after the expiry of this date. 16,068 Parliamentary questions, or over one third of all Parliamentary questions, have remained unanswered.
While 65.67 percent of the questions were submitted by the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), 21.96 percent were submitted by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), 8.68 percent by the İYİ Party and 2.58 percent were by the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
Of the 30,216 Parliamentary questions submitted by the CHP, 21,239 of them have been answered while 29.70 percent have remained unanswered. Of the 10,105 questions submitted by the HDP, only 3,561 have been answered while two thirds remain unanswered.
'Highest number of questions to Vice President'
Vice President Fuat Oktay has been the person who has received the highest number of Parliamentary questions. He has answered 5,743 of these 7,508 questions, leaving 1,765 unanswered.
Justice Minister Abdülhamit Gül was the second person who received the highest number of Parliamentary questions. Of the 5,507 Parliamentary questions, he has not answered 4,204 of them.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca is also among the ministers with a low rate of answering the Parliamentary questions. While the MPs addressed 5,000 questions to Koca, he has answered only 597 of them.
The highest number of answered Parliamentary questions is of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. He has answered 72.5 percent of the questions that he was requested to respond to. (RT/SD)
