Opposition parties; Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and Republican People’s Party (CHP) commented on Justice and Development Party (AKP) Kayseri province Deputy İsmet Yılmaz’s being news Turkish Parliamentary Speaker.
HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş said: “We casted 50 votes for Deniz Baykal, candidate from CHP. We wish the best for MHP.
CHP Spokesperson Haluk Koç told:
"İsmet Yılmaz was elected as New Turkish Parliamentary Speaker. Congratulations! We hope that this time Speaker will obey the rules contrary to former Speaker who behaved under tutelage.
"Some quarrels broke out after election of Speaker. They didn’t get the message sent by people on June 7 (the day on general elections of 2015 were held). Narrow minded, coward politicians cannot solve the political problems. A political party’s leader (referring MHP) served the position of Speaker on a silver platter to AKP.
