As a part of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization/Parallel State Organization (FETÖ/PYD) investigation, custody order has been issued for 79 people, 60 of whom are employed in Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and 19 others in district municipalities of Ankara such as Keçiören, Sincan and Kahramankazan Municipalities.
The investigation is carried out by Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The reason for the custody order is that the suspects were allegedly using "ByLock", an encrypted software used by members of the Gülen community for communication.
The state-run Anadolu Agency has reported that 56 of the suspects were still active workers in the municipalities whereas 23 others were discharged from their positions.
The suspects taken into custody in operations carried out by Ankara Security Directorate Anti-terror Department have been taken to the police station to give their statements. (HK/DG)
