An operation has been launched against two academics from Boğaziçi and İstanbul Bilgi Universities and people from civil society. As of 12.19 p.m. today (November 16), 13 perople have been taken into custody.
In an operation launched earlier today, the following people have been detained: Prof. Dr. Betül Tanbay from the Department of Mathematics at Boğaziçi University and an Academic for Peace signatory to the declaration "We will not be a party to this crime"; Prof. Dr. Turgut Tarhanlı, Dean of the Faculty of Law of İstanbul Bilgi University; Anadolu Kültür Executive Board Deputy Chair Yiğit Ekmekçi; executive board member Ali Hakan Altınay; General Coordinator of Anadolu Kültür Asena Günal; its former director general and Co-Director of Truth Justice Memory Center Meltem Aslan; Bora Sarı from Anadolu Kültür; Ayşegül Güzel, Filiz Telek, Yiğit Aksakoğlu, Yusuf Cıvır, Hande Özhabeş and producer Çiğdem Mater.
As reported by Halil Demir from state-run Anadolu Agency, a detention warrant has been issued against 20 people.
Çiğdem Mater, who was in Kaş, Antalya for a movie shooting, was detained at the hotel where she was staying and taken to the Security Directorate in Kaş. Mater will be brought to İstanbul at the evening hours today.
Attorney Aslı Kazan has announced on Twitter that there has been a three-day detention verdict issued against Turgut Tarhanlı.
