Mardin’s Ömerli Co-Mayor Süleyman Tekin and Van’s Çatak Co-Mayor Celalettin Bartu have been arrested.
Tekin was detained on December 27. Tekin and other three municipality staff were arrested today (January 5).
Bartu was detained on January 3. Bartu and five other municipality staff and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) executive were arrested.
There are 72 mayors from the DBP under arrest as of January 5 and that trustees have been appointed to 51 DBP-governed municipalities. (ÇT/TK)
