PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan met the Kurdish delegation of Pervin Buldan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, İdris Baluken, Ceylan Bağrıyanık and Hatip Dicle in Imrali Prison.
According to Al Jazeera Türk, Öcalan supported the idea that Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) will run as a party [a move that Kurdish political movement avoided in the past elections due to election threshold] in the upcoming elections of June 7.
“In the case that you regard societal opposition fields and their representations, it is possible to receive more votes that 10 percent,” PKK leader said while expressing his support for HDP’s decision.
It was reported that the idea of running elections as a party instead of independent deputies came on the delegation’s meeting with Öcalan on February 4. (EKN/BM)
