The Cannes Film Festival which is going to be held between May 16-27 announced today its official line-up for its 76th edition.
Festival director Thierry Frémaux and Iris Knobloch, the former WarnerMedia France and Germany boss who has succeeded Pierre Lescure as Cannes Film Festival President, announced the full line-up of films that will be competing.
Nuri Bilge Ceylan's new film "About Dry Grasses" is among the films competing. The film focuses on the experiences of the painting teacher Samet who is doing his obligatory service in East Anatolia in a faraway district which he has difficulty making sense of. The world premiere of the film will also be in Cannes.

Nuri Bilge Ceylan was the Golden Bear winner in 2014 with his film "Winter Sleep," and his films "Once Upon a Time in Anatolia," "Far," and "Three Monkeys" were also awarded at Cannes.

"Il Sol Dell'avvenire" - Nanni Moretti
"Monster" - Kore-Eda Hirokazu
"Anatomie D'une Chute" - Justine Triet
"Asteroid City" - Wes Anderson
"Les Filles D'olfa" - Kaouther Ben Hania
"Fallen Leaves" - Aki Kaurismaki
"The Zone of Interest" - Jonathan Glazer
"Club Zero" - Jessica Hausner
The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) announced that three films in which TRT was a co-producer will compete this year at Cannes Film Festival.
Besides "About Dry Grasses," "Club Zero" by director Jessica Hausner from Austria, and "La Chimera" by director Alice Rohrwacher from Italy are the films to compete in Cannes that are co-produced by TRT. (AÖ/PE)
