By July 25, 134 generals and admirals have been arrested due to July 15 coup attempt.
Four generals and admirals who were taken into custody, have been released. Two are still in custody.
According to the statement made by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in May, there are 325 generals and admirals in military department, 32 in Gendarmerie General Commandership and one in Coast Guard Commandership in the TSK.
Ranks of the ones who have been arrested are as follows: two generals, eight lt. generals, a vice-admiral, 26 major generals, 19 rear admirals, 78 brigadier generals.
With the latest arrests, 37 percent of the admirals and generals in the TSK are now under arrest. (BK/UA)
