The administration of NTV Tarih, a popular history magazine under Doğuş Media Group, closed down the publication as it was preparing a special issue on Gezi Park protests.
Last week’s issue called “History Recorded Live” stirred crises among the administration, leaving on the faith of publication to this week.
The administration decided to shut down the magazine edited by Gürsel Göncü, leaving the latest issue undistributed.
While it is yet certain whether magazine staff will continue working under Doğuş Media Group, some already shared posting on social media, saying that they will do their best to reach out readers for the release of latest issue - an issue that didn't appear on facebook and twitter links.
Following Gezi Park protests, the group was shaken with a series of resignations including General Media Group CEO Cem Aydın (June 13), Supervisor of Magazines Neyyire Özkan (June 26) and NTV Arts and Culture Editor Hasan Cömert (June 28). (EA/BM)
