Minister of Interior İdris Naim Şahin answered the parliamentary question of Republican People's Party (CHP) Kırklareli Deputy Turgut Dibek about the murder of Hrant Dink, the Editor in chief of Agos Newspaper:
"We scrupulously fulfilled all the necessary studies for the investigation process of Dink murder case in accordance with the instructions given by Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul."
" We immediately sent any kind of information intended the determination of perpetrators to Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul in order to be included in the investigation file."
"The competent court decided on the administrative penalties for delinquent police officers: One of them got a long term suspension; the salaries of 5 police officers were cut, 2 police officers were acquitted. They said there was no need for a further prosecution for 31 police officers. The prosecutor investigation of a police officer still continues. 4 gendarmerie officers were sentenced to 4 months of imprisonment, one of them was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment and 2 of them were acquitted." said Şahin.
