Sivil Düşün (Think Civilian) European Union (EU) Program has started its 2nd Sivil Toplum Forum (Civil Society Forum) under “volunteerism” theme at Middle East Technical University (METU) Vişnelik Facilities in capital Ankara.
As many as 200 participants from 62 provinces in Turkey and six countries are being hosted in the organization which was first held on July 4-5, 2017 with the title “Creative Methods in Rights Based Studies”.
Sessions and workshops on “volunteerism”
In the morning sections of the 2-day event, sessions on organization models in field of volunteerism, volunteerism in rights based studies, volunteerism management and online volunteerism will be held.
Many simultaneous workshops in field of volunteerism will be organized in the sections afternoon.
Who are attending?
Representatives from prominent European organizations such as European Volunteer Center (CEV), France Bénévolat, Platform of Volunteer Centers in Italy will attend the forum.
There will also be sessions in which organizations that have been carrying out works in field of volunteerism such as United Nations Volunteers Program, Community Volunteers Foundation, the Turkish Foundation for Combating Erosion Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats (TEMA), Turkish Red Crescent will share their experiences.

The programme supports activists, civil society organisations, networks and platforms under the same umbrella. Through various support mechanisms, Sivil Düşün supports active individuals and civil society organisations. These support mechanisms have been designed as a result of the input provided by civil society actors during consultations carried out with representatives of numerous civil society organisations, as well as activists, throughout Turkey. Sivil Düşün was designed to strengthen the structures and values of participatory democracy.
