Speaking at “Meeting of Tranquility” held in Taksim by the District Security Directorate in Beyoğlu, İstanbul, Security District Director İsmail Kılıç has declared that entrances and exits to Taksim will be under police control.
Kılıç said:
“We will double the measurements after having seen that the Reina attacker first took records in Taksim and then headed somewhere else after seeing security measures.
“There won’t be any celebrations for public to have a peaceful year. Rallies won’t be allowed.
“We have projects for the upcoming periods. We will inform our citizens of them and try to implement”.
İsmail Kılıç underlined that the construction works that have been continuing for years on İstiklal Street and Taksim square prevent rallies and demonstrations:
Kılıç also stated that the refugees were displaced by forced and were sent to different districts: “1,739 Syrian beggars were collected and 553 of them were sent to the camp in Pendik. 153 Turkish children were delivered to their families”. (AS/TK)
