Metropolitan Mayor of İstanbul Ekrem İmamoğlu received his certificate of election from the İstanbul Provincial Election Council at the İstanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan yesterday (April 17).
Afterwards, he went to the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality building in Saraçhane to attend the take-over ceremony.
The İstanbulites who voted for Ekrem İmamoğlu, Nation Alliance's candidate for Metropolitan Municipality of İstanbul from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), were in front of the municipality in Saraçhane.
Since the local elections were held 17 days ago, they were waiting for the day when İmamoğlu was granted his certificate of election and demanded that the results which came out of the ballot boxes be respected.
When Ekrem İmamoğlu arrived in Saraçhane yesterday, beautiful scenes unfolded, the crowd grew larger and larger.

In his speech here, İmamoğlu said, "We bring peace to this beautiful city"
