North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has called for an extraordinary session upon Turkey’s request.
Following NATO declaration of extraordinary session, state-run Anadolu Agency posted on its Twitter account that the session will be held at 6 p.m local time in Turkey.

A NATO official speaking to AFP said, “We closely monitor the situation. We are in contact with Turkish officials”.

Russia: No call for UNSC
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has expressed that the allegation appeared on media “Russia has convoked United Nations Security Council (UNSC)” doesn’t reflect the reality.

U.S.: We were not involved
Statement by the United States as to the incident came at 2:50 p.m. local time in Turkey.
According to Reuters, an American offical said, "U.S. forces were not involved in the incident of Russian warplane shot down by Turks".
Ankara had called NATO the meeting at short notice due to Russian air space violation.
NATO condemning the violations had warned Russia saying, “Such irresponsible acts are extremely dangerous”. (AS/TK)
