Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu declared national mourning by practising state protocol details for three days after 9th President of Turkey, Süleyman Demirel, passed away today.
PM Davutoğlu condoled with Demirel’s family in Güniz Street, Ankara and said he declared national mourning for three days as a part of state protocol.
Davutoğlu stated a funeral prayer with state ceremony would be performed for Demirel on Friday in Kocatepe Mosque, Ankara.
Ahmet Davutoğlu:
“We consulted family. If God permits, Demirel’s funeral prayer will be performed in Kocatepe Mosque on Friday in a very pleasant and spiritual atmosphere in the second day of holy Ramadan. All preparations are being made by taking into consideration international participation and condolences sent by them. Required precautions have been taken.”
PM Davutoğlu stated another funeral ceremony for Demirel would be performed in Isparta, Süleyman Demirel’s hometown on Saturday and required precautions were taken for that. (EA/BD)
