Perpetrators of Özgecan Aslan homicide, Ahmet Suphi Altındöken (26) and his father N.A. (50) have been shot by firearms in the prison they were being kept.
As Altındöken shot in the chest loses his life the hospital where they were taken, his father N.A. has reportedly been injured in his abdominal cavity and hip.
It is yet to be explained who shot them and how firearms were brought inside the prison.
Defendants Ahmet Suphi Altındöken, his father N.A. and friend F.G. (20) were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment on charges of “Murdering on monstrous motivation or torture, attempted major sexual assault, depriving person of freedom by sexual possession”.
The family: Nothing can bring our daughter back
Özgecan Aslan’s mother Songül Aslan said, “I am not informed about the incident. Nothing can bring my daughter back. We don’t want to talk about it”.
Her father Mehmet Aslan said, “We return to past anytime we speak. We are not informed of it. We have also no words to say if they are dead”.
Kurtulmuş: “Killing of someone in prison is not acceptable”
Government Spokesperson Numan Kurtulmuş in the statement he made at the Council of Ministers spoke as follows as to killing of Özgecan Aslan’s murderer, Suphi Altındöken:
“The information that Özgecan’s murderer has been shot to death in prison has reached us. There is the information that Suphi Altındöken was taken to hospital injured and lost his life there, and that his father’s condition is not critical.
“Whoever the person is, killing of someone in prison is not acceptable. Minister of Justice has started to work on it. Whoever made the fault will be revealed”. (ÇT/TK)
