Mücella Yapıcı released from prison: ‘I cannot comprehend this notion of justice’
Three of the eight defendants’ sentences were overturned in the case concerning the 2013 Gezi Park protests.
After her release from prison due to the overturned verdict in the Gezi Park case, Mücella Yapıcı expressed her astonishment at the concept of justice, stating, "I cannot comprehend this notion of justice."
"I left my dear friends behind here, and now I am getting out," Yapıcı said, emphasizing the urgency of releasing those still incarcerated.
In the Gezi Park trial, the Yargıtay (Court of Cassation) upheld the convictions of five individuals, including Osman Kavala and Can Atalay, while overturning the verdicts for three others. Mücella Yapıcı was granted release shortly after the announcement of the decision.
