MP dies in earthquake

Justice and Development Party (AKP) Adıyaman MP Yakup Taş died in the earthquake. The loss of life was announced by Bülent Turan, the group deputy chairperson of AKP.

Çetin Sayıcı, the consultant of the MP, told Anadolu Agency yesterday that Taş was in the nine-floor apartment building belonging to the family during the earthquake. The building had collapsed completely.

And a post was shared from the social media accounts of the MP yesterday which said, "Our MP Yakup Taş, his family is under the debris due to the earthquake, just like many of our fellow citizens. Can you include our MP and his family in your prayers?"

Yakup Taş had participated in the funeral of the father of the chairperson of AKP in Tut district a day before the earthquake. (EMK)
