Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Mardin MP Tuma Çelik has directed a parliamentary question to Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli. A question he directed on the matter last year has not received a response yet.
Tuma said that eight Syriac villages were damaged in the fire that broke out in Midyat and Nusaybin in Mardin and many villages damaged in the fire that broke out in İdil, Şırnak.

He added that fires repeatedly break out because of the breaking of the electric fires, short circuits and problems in transformers.
Çelik asked the following questions to the minister:
*Weren't your ministry's 2,300 land vehicles that stand by 24 hours and your teams on duty during the fires in Mardin?
*Will the disruptions during the intervention and those who are responsible for that be determined by your ministry?
*Does your ministry have a mechanism to address the problems that occur every year during interventions in fires? Why are the measures not taken against these fires that repeat every year?
*Were the available technologies used to identify and effectively intervene in the forest fires in Mardin and Şırnak?
*Will you have any works to support citizens who suffered damage and losses? (PT/VK)
