Family and Social Policies Ministry released its "Marriage and Health" booklet, a guide that contained tips for couples on a healthy sex life.
According to an article by Meltem Özgenç in Hürriyet newspaper, some of the recommendations included:
* Couples should put emphasis on mutual respect; care about the other's expectations; avoid speaking in a degrading, humiliating, sarcastic and accusative tone; and be mindful about constructive communication.
* Couples should not shy away from expression each other their sexual expectations, satisfaction forms and times.
* Couples should soften each other's hearts by expressions of love and liking (hugging, caressing, kissing, etc.) during the course of the day.
* Couples should do some thinking to avoid the banality in six life, and leave behind all previous negative aspects and memories of their sexual and marriage life.
* Couples should protect the privacy of sexual life, be considerate regarding their partner's general or sexual illnesses, especially with sexual dysfunctions.
* Couples should pay attention to personal hygiene, avoid bad smells and strive to smell pleasantly.
* Couples should avoid polygamous relationships and decide on contraception methods together.
The booklet also listed the benefits of a healthy sex life as follows:
* Prevents weight gain
* Protects cardiovascular health
* Eliminates insomnia
* Delays aging
* Enhances immune system
* Helps cope with headaches
* Keeps body in shape
* Strengthens bones
* Alleviates menstrual pain (EKN/BM)
