Affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the İstanbul 2nd Cultural Heritage Conservation Board has ordered the removal of "Meeting Point", a temporary, mobile public forum and exhibition space at Taksim Square.
As reported by Medyascope news website, the order to remove the exhibition platform of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality from Taksim Square in Beyoğlu was issued on February 7 and the decree in question was delivered to the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality on February 10.
In the decree notified to the Municipality, the Board has indicated that "Meeting Point" is unpermitted and a criminal complaint will be filed in the event that the platform is not removed by the Municipality within 15 days.

"Meeting Point" has been placed at Taksim Square as part of "İstanbul Reunites with its Squares" project launched by the İstanbul Municipality.
Designed as a temporary, mobile public forum and exhibition space, "Meeting Point" (Kavuşma Durağı) was opened on February 15.
Located on a 253 square meter space at Taksim Square, the platform has both an open and closed space. While the open space is designed as a sitting platform, the closed space is allocated to exhibitions.
"Taksim: The Heart of İstanbul" exhibition has been also opened as part of the project jointly operated with İstanbul Research Institute.
Mayor İstanbul Ekrem İmamoğlu also announced the opening of "Meeting Point" with the message shared on his international Twitter account:
