Ministry of Justice in a notice sent to the Directorate for the Rights of Injured Parties has announced that 31 technically equipped rooms were built to make children give their testimonies and statement in an appropriate environment.
The Ministry assigned the Directorate to put the rooms into operation.
31 rooms in 25 court houses
The respective rooms are planned to be put into service on April 3.
A separate room was assigned to attorneys and public prosecutors to watch the meetings of the children in interview rooms.
The court houses in which the interview rooms were built are İstanbul Çağlayan, İstanbul Bakırköy, İstanbul Anadolu, İzmir, Ankara, Adana adliyelerinde ikişer; Bursa, Antalya, Kayseri, Konya, Manisa, Gaziantep, Mersin, Samsun, Aydın, Sakarya, Zonguldak, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzurum, Çorum, Şanlıurfa, Eskişehir and Trabzon court houses.
The interview rooms were built within the "Justice for Children Project" with financial support by the European Union (EU) and technical support by The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). (YY/DG)
