The Ministry of Interior has announced that a total of 986 people were detained and 84 others were arrested from January 23-30.
The ministry published information about the operations carried out over the last week on its website:
202 operations have been launched by Gendarmerie Special Forces (JÖH), Gendarmerie Commando Units, Police Special Operation (PÖH) and Turkish Armed Forces’ Land and Air units.
328 people have been detained and 41 others arrested “as part of combat against separatist terror organizations”.
26 people suspected of being “affiliated with ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria)” have been detained and one of them has been arrested.
625 people have been detained and 42 others arrested due to suspected ties with “FETÖ/PDY (Fethullahist Terror Organization/Parallel State Structure)”
Seven people with alleged “link[s] with leftist organizations” have been detained.
“Four terrorists, one of whom surrendered and three others who were captured alive, have been neutralized”, the statement said. (BK/TK)
