Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Hami Aksoy has made a statement about Pentagon Spokesperson Rob Manning addressing People’s Protection Units (YPG) member Ferhad Abdi Şahin, codenamed Şahin Cilo, as “General Mazlum”.
Concerning the working groups to be carried out between Turkey-United States, Spokesperson Aksoy said, “The first meeting in which Syria-Munbij topics yo be addressed will be held on March 8-9 in Washington”.
Referring to Pentagon Spokesperson Manning’s statements, Aksoy said, “Pentagon Spokesperson continues blathering. It has been demonstrated that PYD/YPG is a part of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party)”.
“The meeting is on March 19”
Emphasizing that Turkey has expectations from the US within the frame of common mechanism and working groups formed as a result of the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Secretary of State Rex Tillersion, Aksoy added, “We want the PYD/YPG to hand over their arms. These topics will be addressed in the meeting to be held on March 8-9”.
Aksoy said that Çavuşoğlu and Tillerson will meet in Washington on March 19. (PT/TK)
