A Turkish court released 5 suspects including sons of cabinet ministers and Reza Zarrab who have been arrested within Turkey’s corruption probe investigation.
According to Hürriyet newspaper that broke the news, the investigation will resume with no more jailed defendants.
While minister sons Barış Güler and Kaan Çağlayan have been arrested for “creating middle ground for bribery”, Reza Zarrab has been arrested for “bribery bad founding a crime organization”.
“Evidence can’t be obscured”
The court allegedly ruled the release of jailed defendants due to lack of possibility to change the charges in suspects’ favor, their permanent residence status and no possibility of obscuring evidence”.
The court also issued an international travel ban and ordered the defendants to show up every Friday at the nearest headquarters to their permanent residence for presence signature. (ÇT/BM)
