Miner Dies in Soma

Having been squeezed between the wagon and a pole, worker Metin Keskin lost his life in Soma İmbat Mine.

Metin Keskin was from Dursunbeyli, Balıkesir and had 3 children.

After the incident, workers called for stopping working and production stopped until 4 pm (GMT+2).

On 13 May, 301 miners lost their lives in Eynez Mine owned by Soma Coal Incorporated Company. 

Only in August, 158 workers were killed on the job and 1270 workers in total were killed on last 8 months of 2014. (NV/MUY/BM)
