Dozens of concerts, events, games and festivals have been canceled across Turkey due to the workplace disaster in Soma district.
Some of the canceled programs are as follows:
* Ministry of Youth and Sports cancelled the May 19 Atatürk Commemoration and Youth Week festivals.
* Turkey Football Federation (TFF) cancelled the games on May 14 and 15. The federation added that there will be no broadcast of music during the games on May 16, 17 and 18 and referees and players will come to the field with black bands. TFF also declared that they applied to UEFA for Turkey’s National Team to play with black bands at the U17 Europe Championship’s Malta game.
* Miss Turkey representatives postponed the Miss Turkey 2014 finals on May 15.
* Aerosmith concert in Istanbul was cancelled.
* İstanbul Bilgi University, Süleyman Demirel University, Uludağ University, Çukurova University and Niğde University cancelled their mayfest and all other festival events.
