The helicopter carrying commanders visiting posts to exchange bairam greetings crashed in Tohumluk Highland in Giresun province.
CNN Türk correspondent Gülşen Coşkun reported that there were eight military staff, four staff spouses and three children in the helicopter.
Six people died in the crash, reported CNN Türk.
Justice and Development Party (AKP) Giresun MP, Sabri Öztürk announced the death toll as seven.
Giresun Mayor, Kerim Aksu declared that the wreck has been found and that two colonels, their wives and two children lost their lives.
According to CNN Türk's report basing on military sources, two of those died were soldiers and four were civilians. There are also nine wounded in the crash.
The crash took place at Tohumluk Highland located between districts of Alucra and Yağlıdere due to an unknown reason.

Gendarmerie Regional Commander Brigadier General, Mustafa Doğru, his wife Nuran Doğru and his daughter Berrin Doğru; Executive Officer Major Ünal Bayhan, his wife Didem, his son Erdal and his daughter Işıl Bayhan; Province Gendarmerie Deputy Commander Lieutenant Colonel Şadettin Şahin and his wife Nihal Şahin; Sub-Personnel Staff Sergeant Cemalettin Çoban, Sergeant Major Adem Kara and his wife Semra Kara; Pilot Captain Hilmi Özer, Pilot First Lieutenant Yüksel Kandemir and Technician Staff Sergeant Muhammet Bedek.
