Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chair Devlet Bahçeli spoke at the Parliamentary group meeting of his party today (June 1).
Amid the opposition's demands for snap elections, Bahçeli of the MHP, which is in the People's Alliance with the Justice and Development Party (AKP), said that snap elections are not on the agenda.
Referring to main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in this context, Bahçeli accused him of "dancing to the tune of" US President Joe Biden and "getting on his bloody boat", adding that the CHP's demands for snap elections "reflect its master's voice."
"Turkey will not fall into such a trap," he added.
Saying that "the game is big, the game is sinister, the game is dark", Bahçeli stated, "If it is not a disgrace that the CHP administration takes a stand against Turkey for position and seat, then what is?"
'Mafia has penetrated the CHP'
"CHP Chair wants an election as soon as possible. He is apparently in a hurry; he asks, 'Is the nation something to be feared'," said Bahçeli further, adding, "Talking out of his head, he is mentioning a referendum to hold the elections or not. Not only does he become a lie detector, but he also does not see that he has turned into the laughing stock of terrorist organizations."
Calling on Kılıçdaroğlu "to not give him that", MHP leader Bahçeli said, "There has remained no one who has failed to see how the mafia has penetrated the CHP, the tabloid media and how it has been caged."
Reiterating that "Turkey does not have such an item as snap elections on its agenda", Devlet Bahçeli said, "Keep this in your hired mind. As of today, there are 754 days till the elections are held."
'Don't they fear the tragedy in Syria?'
"While our independence and survival is at risk, what fire does the CHP administration talk about? Syria has been going through a tunnel of civil war for nearly 10 years. But for the civil war, would they be condemned to this dark picture today," he asked, briefly adding the following:
"Don't they fear the tragedy of Syria? Don't they see the contemptible scenarios? Read the foreign newspapers, you will immediately see the similarity between them and the political discourse of the CHP.
"Biden's support for the opposition in his statement to the New York Times is a pass made at the alliance of disgrace." (AS/SD)
