With the participation of Şırnak Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan, a meeting was held on the "Coordination Plan to Fight Violence Against Women."
As reported by JinNews agency, the following people attended the meeting in Turkey's Kurdish-majority southeastern province: Şırnak Mayor Mehmet Yarka, Deputy Public Prosecutor Selim Kuş, Şırnak University Deputy Rector Prof. Mehmet Şimşek, Vice Governor Tunahan Efendioğlu, Provincial Director of Security Cemal Dalman, Deputy Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Serkan Karagöz, Provincial Director of National Education Nazan Şener, Family and Social Services Provincial Director Muzaffer Akçam and commission members.
It has sparked criticisms that a meeting held on violence against women was attended by only one woman and 15 men.
At the meeting, it was decided that all institutions work in cooperation and coordination with one another in the light of the Interior Ministry's circular letters and the related institutions discussed the steps to be taken and the issues requiring coordination. (EMK/SD)
