Maritime traffic through İstanbul's Bosphorus Strait has been suspended after a ship coming from Ukraine malfunctioned and ran aground.
Lady Zehma, a 173-meter-long vessel, ran aground due to a rudder failure and anchored in Bebek Bay, the Directorate General of Coastal Safety (KEGM) said on Twitter at 9.30 p.m. local time (7.30 GMT).
Rescue vessels and officials have been dispatched to assist the ship, according to the statement.
Update: The KEGM announced at 7 a.m. on September 2 that Bosphorus was reopened to maritime traffic.
