According to data based on reports in local and national newspapers and news agencies, a compilation made by bianet revealed that male perpetrators left 10 women and 1 infant dead, 16 (including young girls) raped, 8 injured in October 2012.
Overall in 2012, male violence left 137 women dead 106 raped, 195 battered and 117 harassed.
1 October
Murder
* In Adana province, H.D. murdered his religiously-wed wife Hülya Işık (38) with a shotgun as she headed out to renew her 3 month protection order. It turned out that Hülya Işık left her home for her mother’s due to domestic violence. While neighbors alerted gendarmerie, H.D. ran away after the incident.
Battery-Assault
* In İstanbul province, A.T.(30) and A.T.(24) battered their sister A.T. (30) with a baseball bat, saying that she left home due to their insults. They also threatened her not to alert police. While the woman was assigned a guard from Keçiören Aktepe Police Station, a court ordered a mental health scanning for violent brothers who were later on sent to treatment.
* In Bursa province, E.S. received a restraint order as he battered his wife M.S. The woman refused to let her violent husband in and alerted gendarmerie as he attempted to break in. E.S. also assaulted gendarmerie forces who responded with fire and shooting E.S. in the leg. He was hospitalized.
Rape
* In Erzurum province, T.O. (19), K.C.(29), Y.Y. (31), A.K. (32) and B.K. (38) were arrested for raping A.K. (19). Prosecutors charged them with up to 28 years of prison sentence.

* In Muğla province, gendarmerie arrested H.G. for battering his wife A.Y.G.(27) upon the woman’s complaint. Along with her three children, A.Y.G. was put in a women’s shelter.
4 October
Murder
* In Eskişehir province, E.A. and her lover R.Ü. murdered the wife of E.A.'s ex-lover Sevil Sağlık (40) by strangling with a pillow. Detained by the police, E.A. and R.Ü. pleaded guilty.
* In Zonguldak province, A.E. (38) murdered his wife Hediye Eski (32) on the street with a pistol, saying that she left him. He also left her friend H.E. wounded. After the incident, A.E. committed suicide.
8 October
Rape
* In Ankara province, a court arrested S.D. (27) who allegedly chased after and raped solitary elder women. It turned out that he also threatened and sexually harassed his mother not to alert the police.
* In Uşak province, R.A. (24) and M.Ç. (23) have been arrested by a court for raping B.T. (13) after abducting her and putting sleeping pills in her drink.
9 October

* In Nevşehir province, İ.D.(28) raped his Facebook friend İ.R.Y. (15) on a construction site after threatening her to reveal their acquaintance to her family through their chat logs. İ.D. was arrested upon the complaint of İ.R.Y.'s mother.
Death
* In Antalya province, Saniye Ünlü (31) who was hospitalized after being raped by a rifle cleaner of her husband, died at the hospital. It turned out that M.Ü. was sentenced to 16 years and 8 months of prison.
10 October

* In Bursa province, E.K. (23), his brother F.K. (22) and A.B.(20) raped N.L. (17), the daughter of their neighbor, after opening a fake social media account and threatening her. Three male suspects were arrested for “blackmail, threat and sexual assault on a minor”.

* In İzmir province, D.M. assaulted his wife K.M. with a knife. Gravely wounded, the woman was hospitalized. A court arrested D.M.

* In İstanbul province, C.K. (22) raped university student Fatma Nur Çelik in her apartment,saying that he would install internet. Following the incident, he strangled her to death.

* In Antalya province, M.T. (33) raped his-ex lover E.K. (31) in her apartment. M.T. is standing trial at Antalya 2nd High Criminal Court.
* In Aydın province, E.Y. (45) raped his neighbor’s daughter E.D. (15) in her apartment. A court arrested M.Y.
Harassment
* In İstanbul province, G.T. sexually harassed A.S., a hotel maid. G.T. was charged with sexual assault, facing 2 to 7 years of prison sentence.
* In Konya province, H.Y. told S.S. (20) that he would clear her debts in exchange for sexual intercourse. S.S. filed a complaint to a prosecutor.

* In Giresun province, H.Ö. (49) murdered his wife Yeliz Özer (31) with a rifle. It turned out that the woman previously filed complaint for domestic violence and H.Ö. received a 6-month restraint order. H.Ö.'s penalty was due roughly 45 days before the incident.
Rape
* In İstanbul province, C.Y. raped his separation-seeking lover S.Z. (38) and her daughter B.K. (16). Arrested by a court, C.Y. is standing trial at Gaziosmanpaşa 1st Peace Criminal Court for a prison term up to 17 years.
* In Aksaray province, T.Ö. (40) and his three male friends raped A.S. (25) after abducting her from parents’ apartment in the name of asking for marriage. A court arrested two of four suspects.
* In Bursa province, K.S.(24), T.T.(23), Ş.T. (24) and Y.T.(24) abducted R.K., a woman who was crying at a park, raping her in apartment for 3 days. After R.K.'s lover alerted the police, surveillance camera footage detected suspects‘ location. Police detained 4 male suspects.
* In Afyon province, D.U. (32) forced S.Y. to rape after pushing her into a car. Arrested, D.U. was sent to a prison.

* In Adana province, V.Ö. battered his separated wife G.Ö. in her father’s apartment after breaking in from the balcony. It turned out that he also did so through breaking the front door. Previously, the woman filed a complaint against her husband, upon which a court issued a 2-month restraint order.

* In Isparta province, K.A. assaulted his wife A.A. with a pistol, leaving her gravely wounded. The husband committed suicide, thinking that the woman was dead. It turned out that the couple previously decided for divorce after a court restraint order and other protection measures.

* In Kastamonu province, S.Ç. (75) murdered his wife Hatice Ç. (75) with a shotgun, leaving three other friends injured. A court arrested S.Ç.

* In Kocaeli province, S.K. (38) attempted to rape Serpil Kömürcü (25), a hitch-hiker. He murdered the woman by running over with his car as she resisted.

* In Antalya province, M.K. (36) raped M.E.K.L. (46), a tourist woman, after meeting at a night club. The woman committed suicide the day after the incident.

* In Antalya province, a man murdered Serap (29), a transexual woman, on the street by stabbing a knife at her heart.

* In Maraş province, I.A. (40) brutally battered his wife S.A (32) by cutting her nose, lips and other body parts. He also broke her arms. It turned out that he received a restraint order three months ago. While police detained I.A., he was released pending a trial by a prosecutor. I.A. reportedly ran away.

* In Aydın province, threatening with a knife, F.I. (18) raped Z.A. (15) who ran way from a student residence. Detained by the police, he was released pending a trial later on. Though he was arrested for a previous theft crime.

* In Osmaniye province, B.G. (19) murdered his lover Beyza Ziyan (17) with a pistol.
* In Malatya province, M.T. murdered Leyla Kalkan (32) and her 1.5 year old infant on the street with a pistol. Police seeking M.T.

Rape
* In İstanbul province, A.U. raped his friend Ş.K. (17) in an apartment after putting drugs in her drink. He reportedly kept on raping the woman after taking her nude pictures and blackmailing her. While he also threatened to kill her with an electric chain saw, neighbors alerted the police upon her screams for help. A.U. was arrested. Ş.K. was taken under protection.

* In İstanbul province, R.Y. attempted to rape his student A. (16) in the woods. He was arrested after patrolling police took notice. A court arrested R.Y. (BK/ÇT/BM)
