According to data based on reports in local and national newspapers and news agencies, a compilation made by bianet revealed that male perpetrators left 24 women dead, 2 raped, 54 battered and 2 harassed in March 2014.
In 2013, men killed 214 women and 10 children, raped 167 women and teenager girls/ attempted to rape, used violence against 241 women and teenager girls, harassed 161 women and teenager girls.

* In Van province, village guard N.D. murdered his wife Nazan Dokay (22) and Veysel Surme (43) with a rifle. Following the incident, N.D. surrendered to the police, saying that he caught his wife in an “inappropriate” position. It was claimed that he did this to benefit from “provocation” related sentence reduction.

* In İzmir province, nurse B.T. has been assaulted by patient relative in a hospital elevator. It turned out that one of the suspects had a similar criminal record and benefited from judiciary control measures. It was also claimed that the woman laughed during the elevator ride.
* In Mersin province, M.F. assaulted his wife E.F. and daughter F.F. with a knife in their apartment. While E.F. was hospitalized with critical condition, M.F. ran away. Police captured the suspect.

* In Konya province, H.H.Ç. (34) murdered his divorce-seeking and domestic violence complaining wife Gönül Çiçek (33) with a rifle after beating her. Following the incident, H.H.Ç. called the police, pleading guilty. Later, he ran away. It turned out that a court issued a month restraint order for H.H.Ç.

* In Mardin province, F.M.H. murdered his wife Songül Aydemir with a knife and ran away to Iraq along with his two kids. The woman’s funeral has been transferred to the border gate Habur by BDP officials in Silopi district. The woman was buried in Maxmur Camp, Federal Kurdistan Region.

* In Kayseri province, N.D. (36) murdered his wife Özlem Duran (30) and three kids with a sharp object. Following the incident, he pushed his other kid from a balcony and then committed suicide himself.
* In Bursa province, H.Y. (59) murdered his wife F.Y. (58) by strangling with a phone cord. Following the incident, H.Y. called his parents, pleading guilty. Police detained H.Y.
* In Hatay province, N.A. murdered his wife Ayşe Atıcı (30) in their apartment with a knife. Initially calling his neighbors to alert that his wife is bleeding, he pleaded guilty to a police officer.

* In Kocaeli province, M.Z.K. battered his wife Z.K. While Z.K. was slightly injured, police detained M.Z.K.
* In Kütahya province, R.Y. assaulted his wife S.Y. (44) by throwing boiled water at her. Following the incident, he battered his wife, dragging her on the floor. Hospitalized, S.Y. filed a complaint against her husband who allegedly battered her for 13 years. Detained by the police, R.S. was released by a prosecutor after his statement.

* In İstanbul province, D.V. murdered his mother Olga Vornikova with a knife after raping her. Following the incident, he burnt down the apartment. Police captured D.V. Prosecutors charged D.V. with murder a relative, sexual assault, murdering someone to curtail another crime. D.V. is facing a prison sentence up from 18 years to life sentence.

* In İstanbul province, M.E., a university student, murdered his ex-lover Özge Gündoğan (21) in a public bus with a pistol. Following the incident M.E. committed suicide. It turned out that Özge Gündoğan asked for protection from the police after receiving death threats 15 days ago. “Prosecutors will decide on the protection, this is enough,” police allegedly told her.

* In İstanbul province, D.Z. (20) murdered his mother Hanime Arslan (43) and her guardian police officer Emrah Taşdemir (32) in the courthouse with a pistol. The incident also left private security officer M.Z. injured. It turned out that Hanime Arslan has been receiving threats from her ex-husband H.Z. after their divorce. H.Z. also has been sentenced to 11 months of prison. The incident took place as the hearing was over.

* In Aydın province, B.T. assaulted his ex-wife G.T. (23) and ex-brother-in-law M.T. (52) with a knife. He also battered G.T.’s grandmother (85). Following the incident, B.T. ran away. Police captured the suspect.

By September, he was living in their apartment again. Following the incident, the suspect ran away. Police captured the suspect.

* In Bartın province, V.K. (20) allegedly recorded the sexual intercourse with his lover T.G. (16) and forced her to have intercourse with his friend U.Ç. (19). While the woman was forced to intercourse by harassment and threat, a court arrested V.K and U.Ç. for “sexually abusing minors”, “threat” and “blackmail”. Prosecutors are still working on the case.

* In İstanbul province, while S.K. made an attempt to walk over his ex-lover on the street, he was confronted by a group of women who battered him and shouted that they wouldn’t let any more male violence. It turned out that S.K. previously battered his ex-lover and harassed her frequently.
* In Antalya province, İ.İ. (31), a trainer who taught self-defense tactics to women, battered his wife G.M.İ. (26). While the suspect stood trial for domestic violence, the court released him.

* In Sakarya province, O.Ç. murdered Aysel Üstüntaş (33) outside the office of her ex-husband S.F. (37) with a pistol fired from his car. While S.F. was detained for ordering the murder, police is seeking O.Ç. who turned out to be S.F.’s niece.

* In Aydın province, N.E. (55) stabbed his wife A.E. (50) on the back and then assaulted his son F.E. (23) from his throat and chest. While two were severely wounded, N.E. committed suicide. It turned out that N.E. was going through schizophrenia treatment.
* In Tekirdağ province, C.S. battered his wife M.S. (33), leaving her nose broken. Upon M.S.’s complaint, prosecutors launched an investigation against C.S.

* In Sakarya province, S.B. (24) murdered his divorce-seeking and separated wife Dudu Babayiğit (18) and her sister Semam Şimşek on the street with a rifle. Following the incident, the suspect ran away. Later on, he surrendered to the police. It turned out that S.B. was looking for a compromise but learned over the phone that she filed for divorce. The incident took place as he grabbed his rifle and headed to the apartment of his brother-in-law.

* In Çorum province, S.D. battered his wife M.D. Following the incident, M.D. committed suicide by eating pills. The woman’s situation still remains critical.

* In Sakarya province, G.Ş. (36) murdered his child’s teacher Tuncel K., saying that he had an affair with his wife. While the suspect ran away from the scene by his car, he also shot his wife H.Ş. (31) from the knee. Later on, the suspect was arrested.
Rape
* In Antalya province, N.C. raped F.B., a sex worker, after threatening her with a knife. Following the incident, F.B. collected sperms samples with a tissue and filed a complaint to the police with her torn buttons. Police detained middle man H.D. as well as N.C. and İ.K.
20 March

* In Maraş province, O.A. (21) brutally murdered his lover Sevda Salyak (22) with several knife strokes. Following the incident, he buried the woman’s body in the backyard. While Sevda Salyak’s body was recovered 5 days after her family filed for missing, O.A. and two of his friends were arrested. It also turned out that Sevda Salyak was four months pregnant.

* In Samsun province, B.A. (28) attempted to rape his neighbor Ç.K. (36) by breaking into her apartment. Upon the woman’s screams for help, B.A. ran away. Later on, he was captured by the police. Prosecutors launched an investigation against B.A. for sexual harassment and residence transgression.

* In Adana province, O.T. (28), a convict of domestic violence and property damage in open prison term, ran away from his civil service at the courthouse by a car and battered his religiously-wed wife A.K. (36). While O.T.’s multiple prosecutions are still underway for assault and torment, he ran away. It also turned out that A.K. has been receiving threats.
* In Erzurum province, R.K. assaulted his wife Z.K. and his sleeping grandson B.Y. with a rifle. It was claimed that the incident took place as R.K. was cleaning his rifle. Police confiscated R.K.’s licensed weapon and released him.
* In Kocaeli province, M.C. battered his wife G.C. and daughter K.C. after an argument.
* In İstanbul province, H.Y. assaulted his divorce-seeking and domestic violence victim wife D.Y. (24) in their apartment with a pistol. While D.Y. ran away without a major injury, D.Y. had called the police for protection only 30 minutes prior to the incident due to death threats. While a search order was issued for H.Y., he was also restraint from D.Y.’s premises for 6 months. On the other hand, D.Y’s request for protection has been declined as she didn’t have any “evidence”. “We didn’t find your husband at home, we keep searching him. There is nothing more we can do. You must apply to a women’s shelter. It is not safe for you to be at your apartment when he is outside,” police allegedly told her.

* In Konya province, Ü.T. (35) murdered Zehra Tezcan (40), wife of his cousin, by stabbing her with a knife several times. It turned out that Ü.T. has been arrested for stealing 4,000 liras and benefitted from a parole days before the incident. Ü.T. has been arrested again.
* In Antalya province, M.A. has previously (March 15) shot his separation-seeking lover Züleyha Kurt (33) with a rifle. Admitted to a hospital in critical condition, Züleyha Kurt died in the ICU.
