According to data based on reports in local and national newspapers and news agencies, a compilation made by bianet revealed that male perpetrators left 9 women killed, 20 (including young girls) raped, 10 injured and 19 harassed in July 2013.
In 2013 so far, male violence left 97 women killed, 97 raped, 127 battered ad 110 sexually harassed.
July 1
Rape
* In Antalya province, M.D. dragged tourist M.K. (34) into a cave and attempted to rape her. Caught by police, M.D. has been arrested for premeditative assault, sexual abuse and assault to officers.
* In Sinop province, R.U. (34) assaulted a 17 year old teenager girl. Attempting to rape the girl, R.U. ran away upon her screams for help. R.U. has been captured and sent to prison after a court ruled on his arrest.
Murder
* In Antalya province, N.T. murdered his religiously-wed wife Zübeyde Ediz (35) dead with a rifle. Previously, Zübeyde Ediz had filed a complaint, saying that her husband assaulted her.

* In Zonguldak province, Y.A. raped a 14 year old girl. He also blackmailed the girl’s mother to be together with her, saying that he was keeping her daughter’s nude photos.

* In Istanbul province, a civil police officer reportedly slapped a woman in the face during a protest where several demonstrators were protesting the headline of Takvim newspaper that said “Knock out” to describe the situation of battered woman.
* In Maraş province, Ş.Ç. (33) cut the nose of his wife İ.Ç. (28) with a knife.
July 3

* In Istanbul province, H.Ç. raped his friend C.K. Her new friend E.D. gave her sleeping pills instead of painkillers in his apartment. C.K. reportedly woke up as H.Ç. was raping her. H.Ç. has been charged with “planned sexual assault” to a prison sentence between 10.5 to 18 years. While F.E. has been charged with “aiding planned sexual assault” to a prison sentence between 10.5 to 18 years.
July 4
Rape
* In Isparta province, 5 people including 3 women have called in S.T. (29) to give furniture and forced her to prostitution. Arriving in S.B.’s (49) apartment, M.Ç. (32) and Ü.T. (40) forced S.T. into an automobile and took her to Antalya province. There, she was forced into prostitution with 2 men. On the third occasion, she jumped in front of a running car and ran away. Not having wounded in the accident, S.T. will receive psychological support.
Suicide
* In Mardin province, N.F. (20) who was allegedly raped by village guard A.İ. has committed suicide with a rifle. Previously, N.F. has been abducted twice by individuals among whom village guards also included. Having submitted an official complaint, N.F. committed suicide when courts failed to support her.
Suspicious death
* In Bursa province, K.O. (15) fell off from the terrace of cafe located on the fifth floor of a hopping mall. Suspected to have committed suicide, K.O. allegedly took narcotic pills from A.S. (20) who harassed her. A.S. and his friend O.Ç. (21) has been arrested for “letting others use narcotic drugs” and “sexually abusing of a minor”. An autopsy revealed that K.O. was 2 months pregnant.

* In Istanbul province, M.İ. harassed E.S. who was traveling on bus to Ankara. M.İ. has been sent to prison after submitting his testimony.
July 9

* In Afyonkarahisar province, Y.Ç. (49) battered his wife Ayçe Ç. Two months pregnant, she miscarried her baby and died 5 days later because of excessive bleeding. Her family members said A.Ç. was subjected to domestic violence throughout her marriage.
* In Aydın province, Dora Özer (25), a trans woman, was found stabbed to death in her apartment.

* In Elazığ province, E.Ç. (26) raped his neighbor H.K. (80) in the coal chamber of the apartment building. Upon her complaint submission, H.K. has been hospitalized. E.Ç., on the other hand, has been sent to prison after police investigation.
July 10

* In Adana province, S.Ü. (62) raped his partner H.Ü. (28). Initially seeking help from police, H.Ü. withdrew her complaint upon her hospital discharge. Police released S.Ü. after his testimony.
* In Zonguldak province, T.D. raped his daughter C.D. who is a high school student. C.D. allegedly said his father raped her three times in the past 3 years. She was put under temporary shelter after running away from home with a pretext to meet her friends. Telling police that accusations are baseless, T.D. has been released by the police.

* In Adana province, middle school student F.A.Y. (13) murdered a higher grade student M.P. (14) with a knife. After his capture, F.A.Y. testified that M.P. exercised psychological pressure and violence at school - a situation that he attempted to resume during the vacation period.

* In Urfa province, İ.Ç. murdered her relatives M.E. (21) and M.B. (20) as they were riding a motorbike. İ.Ç. testified that she learned that they raped his daughter by threatening with a knife. “That’s why I called them home not to make a fuzz,” she said.

* In Siirt province, vice mayor A.Ç. has been caught in his car while harassing sisters M.A. (17) and S.A. (13). M.A. claimed that they have been together for the past two years. Detained by police, A.Ç. has been released within judicial control measures, international travel ban and pending trial. He was later on arrested upon prosecutor’s appeal. BDP expelled A.Ç. from the party.

* In Batman province, Y.A. (22) murdered his wife F.A. (23) with a pistol. Vanished after the incident, Y.A. turned out to be the suspect of 9 different cases.
* In Aydın province, T.T. murdered his ex-spouse Gülşah Özdemiroğlu with a knife. It turned out that T.T has been released from prison 5 months ago within judiciary control measures which required him to show up at police headquarters on daily basis.

* In Batman province, Y.Y. (24) assaulted his spouse Ş.Y. (23) with a bread knife, leaving her severely injured.

* In Zonguldak province, A.D. (35), a mosque imam, harassed S.İ. (16) by flashing his sexual organ. Police released A.D. after his testimony.

* In Balıkesir province, T.S. (38), A.Y. (40) and Ö.Y. (49) abducted mentally-disabled G.H. (16) in an apartment and raped her for 44 days. After submitting their testimonies at local gendarmerie headquarters, 3 suspects have been released by a court for pending trial.
* In Aydın province, K.A. (47) raped his daughter B.A. (17) in a hotel room. The incident came onto surface after B.A. shared a cell phone recording of the incident with her neighbor. Arrested and sent to jail, K.A. has reportedly raped his daughter for two years.
* In Muğla province, H.K. (30) attempted to rape L.A.B. in an apart hotel where he came for theft. Caught on the runaway, H.K. has been arrested.

* In Kocaeli province, A.D. murdered his separated wife Cüziyete Dünen (47) with a pistol.

* In Uşak province, A.K. (28) murdered his ex-spouse Hatice Palta (26) with a rifle. It turned out that A.K. continued battered and threatened his wife after their separation and he had related convictions. Murdering his wife while breastfeeding, A.K. has been captured after a 12 hour police operation.

* In Amasra province, Y.K. (29) harassed Trabzon resident A.B. (26) over the phone. Upon her complaint, prosecutors launched a penal process against Y.K., charging him with 3 months to 2 years of prison according to Turkish Penal Code Article 105.
* In Çorum province, S.B. (83) harassed M.A. (13) on the bus. Stood trial in Çorum 2nd High Criminal Court, S.B. refused all charges.

* In Adana province, Y.Y. (39) murdered his wife Songül Yılmaz (36) with a pistol. He also wounded Ç.A. whom he was claiming to have an extramarital affair with his wife. It turned out that a court issued a restraint order for Y.Y. In 2011, Y.Y. attempted to hold his wife and children as hostages, burnt down his apartment and put himself on fire in front of local governor’s office. Following the incident, Y.Y. received financial aid within the order of former Interior Minister Osman Güneş.

* In Istanbul province, O.O. harassed his ex-lover Y.E. over the phone. She filed a complaint to prosecutor’s office, demanding a protection order.

* In Muğla province, a taxi driver raped a tourist woman in the car. The taxi driver has been arrested upon the woman’s complaint.

* In Zonguldak province, U.K. (31) raped G.M. (14), his lover’s daughter. While G.M. has been taken under protection, U.K. has been arrested. Police found two shotgun rifles in his car trunk.
* In Tekirdağ province, physician T.A. raped his patient A.U. (36) after having faint her. T.A. has been released after his testimony. Following the incident, another woman made a similar complaint regarding the same physician.

* In Balıkesir province, A.D. assaulted his divorce-seeking wife A.U.D. (29) by splashing acid in her face. After all assaults and threats, A.D. has been released the night after his detention.
*In Istanbul province, T.S., one of the suspects in Meis Case, assaulted trans woman Elçin. The incident took place in Meis Site in Avcilar district, a residential complex notorious with previous attacks on trans people.

* In Konya province, school teacher H.A. (41) reportedly harassed 20 children (12 girls and 8 boys) who were ranged between 6 and 8 years old. Prosecutors completed their indictment on the case, charging H.A. with “sexual abuse on children”. Konya 3rd High Criminal Court opened the case with confidential hearings. If found guilty, H.A. might received 15 years for each child’s psychological damage and 8 to 12 years for other children.

* In Istanbul province, TV-actor F.Ç, raped his friend G.D. in an apartment. Prosecutors charged F.Ç. with “sexual assault with force” and “qualified sexual assault”. Facing 12 years of prison, F.Ç. has allegedly hold G.D. throat and sexually harassed her.

* In Ağrı province, H.Ç. (17) assaulted his cousin M.Ç. (8) and raped her. A court arrested H.Ç. and sent him to prison.
* In Istanbul province, H.A. (18) attempted to rape Y.T. (28) in her apartment where he came for theft.

* In Istanbul province, Gaye, a trans woman, has been found dead in her apartment. Even though it is said that she was strangled, the final cause of death will be revealed after the autopsy. A florist, Gaye has lived with her lover for 15 years.
* In Izmir province, F.G. (27) attempted to rape Nurgül Erbaş (44) who was collecting vegetable in a deserted area. As Erbaş resisted the rape, F.G. shot her dead with a rifle and raped her. F.G. was captured by police and arrested by a court.

* In Erzurum province, I.A. (15) raped his uncle’s daughter E.A. (6). I.A. was arrested by a court.

* In Eskişehir province, T.A. assaulted his divorced wife D.Y. (28) in her workplace. He also attacked G.K., another employee. It turned out that D.Y. filed a complaint against her ex-husband as he harassed her over the phone. Furious to find that out, T.A. raided her workplace.

* In Adana province, M.Ç. (23) attempted to rape A.H. in her apartment where he came to help carry her groceries. Confronting with resistance, M.Ç. ran away after picking her diamond ring. A vacation court arrested M.Ç. for sexual assault and domestic vandalization. He is facing 22 years of prison sentence.

* In Ankara, an Azerbaijani man battered his wife. The woman was put under shelter after applying to Family and Social Policies Ministry. Law 6284 has been applied for the first time on a foreign couple in Turkey, Minister Fatma Şahin announced. A court issued a 4 month restraint order on the husband within a radius of 1 kilometer. It also ordered the husband to pay the wife a monthly alimony and took measures to prevent future abuses.

* E.G.S., a cook working on a cruise boat in the Aegean Region, filed a complaint on B.Ç. , a yacht captain whom she claimed to have broke into her room and rape her. She also added that he assaulted him and harassed her verbally and physically during the trip.
* In Istanbul province, E.G. has been verbally harassed by a group of 25 men. Chased by the group, E.G. filed a complaint by calling the police. “What are you wearing? Do you have a mini skirt on?” the police operator asked E.G. (EK/BOT/ÇT/BM)
