According to data based on reports in local and national newspapers and news agencies, a compilation made by bianet revealed that male perpetrators left 24 women dead, 10 raped, 10 battered and 15 harassed in February 2012. Overall in 2012, male violence left 47 women dead, 28 raped, 60 battered and 56 harassed.
While women were most frequently killed by their spouses, the most frequently used weapon turned out the knife.
Aegean Region and Istanbul province toppled the lists for most reported cases in two different categories.
In January 2012, male perpetrators left 12 women, 4 children and 3 men dead, 10 women raped, 26 women and 2 children injured and 35 harassed.

* In İstanbul province, M.C.(21), G.K.(30), V.K.(30), F.G.(26), O.N.(22) and E.T.(23) raped mentally-disabled S.O. (25) for two days straight in an abduction house. Detained, suspects were ordered to stand trial in Üsküdar Courthouse.

* In Muğla province, A.A.(34) raped his visiting niece Ö.A. (18) in his apartment.
* In Ankara province, İ.S. (32) has been arrested for allegedly raping his own sisters B.S. (22), Ş.S. (19) and S.Z. (18).
4 February

* In İstanbul province, M.A.İ. (34) raped A.B. (27) and her friend İ.B. (23) of both Ukranian origin after inviting them over to Istanbul. It turned out that he abducted them in a villa for 5 days.

* In Adana province, A.A. (36), a horse carrier, abducted 3 children and attempted to rape U.Y. (8) in a pig ranch. Following his first interrogation at a police station, A.A. was ordered to stand trial for sexual abuse. He was later on arrested and sent to a prison.
5 February

* In Uşak province, M.K. murdered his wife Hatice Karaca with a knife. Police detained M.K.
* In Aydın province, İ.T. (25) murdered his wife Özge Tingir (18) with a knife after being released from a prison. Police is seeking İ.T.

* In Muğla province, R.Ç. (40) battered his longtime wife G.Ç. (31) after finding cigarette packs in the apartment. "Are you smoking?" he reportedly said in fury. Doctors issued a month medical leave for G.Ç. She also filed a complaint on her husband to police authorities.

* In İstanbul province, police started a search on a man after receiving a complaint that he flashed his sexual organ to A.Ö. at a tram stop.
Child abuse
* In Adana province, G.K. (31) was caught sexually abusing 13 year old H.L. A court convicted G.K. of sexual abuse and sent him to a prison.

* In Antalya province, B.E. (17) raped his male niece S.E. (10) in their backyard. B.E. was sent to Mahmutlar Prison.

* In Sakarya province, K.O assaulted his disabled wife Ş.O. with a bat and splashed boiled water at her. Following the incident, the husband called the gendarmerie hotline and lied that “his wife was assaulted”. Later on, he was arrested. While the husband was sent to a prison, their three children were put under shelter.

* In Kayseri province, farmer H.K. battered his daughter kızı A.K. (14). Following the incident, the girl filed a complaint against her father. Prosecutors ordered her placement to a shelter.
8 February
Murder
* In Ankara province, H.Y., (41) murdered his wife Fatma Yılmaz (40) with a shotgun despite a court restraint order. The incident took place as he convinced to meet with her. Following the incident, he threw her dead body to a deserted farm. He reportedly ran away to Istanbul. Two of his friends were detained for aiding the runaway.

* In İstanbul province, B.A., a model, has reportedly been harassed as she was walking down in Istiklal Avenue.
Child abuse
* In Antalya province, A.Ö. (39) and his wife Z.Ö. (34) raped their daughters B.Ö. (15), H.Ö. (16), their friends E.E. (16) and Ç.K. (14), another mentally-retarded friend. A court arrested A.Ö. and Z.Ö. who are currently standing trial for 15 years prison sentence for each child.
* In Muğla province, H.K (18), V.S (22), S.V (18), C.Ö (17) and O.K. (17) sexually abused Z.K. (17). While all suspects were detained, 4 pleaded guilty. On the other hand, police launched another investigation on Y.G. (22) who reportedly raped Z.K. at the age of 14.
9 February

* In Urfa province, police found the dead body of Naile Çatlak (19) under a bridge with her head chopped off. Law enforcement authorities also detained her family members who said that they feared to report on the case because of “bad rumors”. It turned out that she was murdered by Y.B. whose hand she refused. A court arrested Y.B.
Harassment- Violence
* In İstanbul province, three men reportedly harassed S.Y. (28) verbally. Later on, they robbed her purse and battered her. Suspects ran away as they saw patrolling police. The woman was hospitalized.
Forced marriage
* In Adana province, A.U. (15) alerted the gendarmerie forces that her family would force her to marriage. Raiding a pre-ceremony, gendarmerie saved the girl and transferred to a children’s shelter. However, A.U. returned to her parent’s apartment after a week. While the family is currently receiving social help, A.U. and her siblings are reportedly sent to schools by their parents.
10 February

* In Manisa province, M.Ş.Y. (45) murdered his wife Vezne Yalçınkaya (46) with a rifle. He testified that the incident occurred by mistake as he was cleaning his rifle.

* In İzmir province, hospitalized at Ege University Mental Health Section, Y.Ö. (15) said he had slept over 300 men for money.
* In Muğla province, M.E. (20) has been arrested for abducting and forcing to rape M.M. (14). It turned out that M.M. was 5 months pregnant.
11 February

* In İzmir province, M.U. (35) assaulted his wife with a knife after finding out that she got a job. It turned out that he ran away from a prison to realize the assault. While the woman was hospitalized, the husband was caught and sent back to prison.
Rape
* In Konya province, Ö.A. (53) reportedly raped his daughter E.A. (17). It turned out she gave birth to a child. Ö.A. brutally murdered the baby and dumbed her to a river. The incident came into surface as E.A. was hospitalized. Following the incident, Ö.A. was arrested.

* In Ankara province, A.Ö. brutally murdered wife Ayşe Demir (30) in her store by chopping off her head with a knife. under a bridge. Later on, he was arrested.
* In Van province, Ayşe Anay (20) was murdered by her husband who claimed that she was with another man. 5 suspects were detained related to the incident.
* In Ankara province, H.S. (29) murdered his wife Sevda Sonay (35) with a knife and attempted to commit suicide after the incident. H.S. was hospitalized.

* In İstanbul province, T.K. harassed teacher S.D. over Facebook. Upon the woman’s complaint, a prosecution has been launched. T.K. will stand trial for threat, harassment and unrest charges, facing up to 6 years of prison.

* In Denizli province, T.Ş. (36) started to batter his lover Ö.A. (35) in his apartment. He continued to batter the woman even though she ran away and refuged to a nearby supermarket before the eyes of customers. While T.Ş. was detained the police, he was released as the woman didn’t file a complaint.

* In Aydın province, M.P. (62) harassed his daughter -in-law R.P. (32) in his apartment.

* In Bursa province, waiter A.G. raped O.L. (16) in a park. In the meantime, A.G. took nude photos of O.L. and used them for threat and forcing to sex working. The police stepped in as the teenager girl refuged. A court arrested 4 out of 5 rape suspects.

* In İstanbul province, Nuray Özdeniz (67) was found stabbed to death in the basement of her apartment.

* In Osmaniye province, Sinan Dursun (29) murdered Fatmanur Gedik (16) and her friend Fatmagül Yalçın (16) with a shotgun on their way out from school, saying that Gedik turned down his hand. Following the incident, Dursun committed suicide after saying that he would surrender to the police.

* In Konya province, H.M., battered his ex-wife G.P. (27) and abducted his four children. While the woman was hospitalized, she reportedly filed several complaints previously.
* In Konya province, M.A. battered his separation-seeking lover K.G. (29) on the street. It turned out that she broke up after finding out he was married.
* In Bursa province, M.O. (25) cut the throat of his lover D.B. (21). While the woman was hospitalized, M.O. ran away.

* In Muğla province, K.T. (14) told his teacher that he was subjected to rape by his father and uncles. While a prosecutor launched an investigation, the child was placed under shelter. Suspects, on the other hand, were releases after their testimonies.
* In Konya province, farmer C.E.(25) sexually harassed B.K. (11) as he was waiting outside a hospital court for the labor of his wife. C.E. was detained upon onlooker’s complaint.

* In Ankara province, İ.K. (46) murdered his daughter Eda K. (22) with a pistol. Following the incident, he pleaded to guilty to his neighbors. A court arrested İ.K.
* In İstanbul province, S.Y. murdered his wife Beyza Yılmaz with a pistol after finding out that she opened a Facebook account.

* In Kocaeli province, Y.T. battered his wife in a shopping mall despite a court restraint order. Police detained Y.T.

* In Niğde province, S.Ç. (28) murdered his wife F.Ç. (22) with a knife. Following the incident, he called the police to report that his wife was missing. Pushed by the police because of his inconsistent testimony, he pleaded guilty later on.

* In İstanbul province, M.Y. murdered his sister Yıldız Yardım with a knife after catching her with a lover at a gas station. M.Y. Following the incident, he surrendered to the police.

* In Ankara province, Y.K. (36) murdered his divorce-seeking wife Tülin Kaplan (32) with a shotgun. It turned out that the husband received a 3 month restraint order which she didn’t renew on February 18. Y.K. was arrested and sent to a prison.
Retaliation to male violence
* In Antalya province, D.K. (17) assaulted his father B.K. (45) with a knife, saying that he was beating her mother. While D.K. was detained, the father was hospitalized. (ÇT/BM)
