Deported from Northern Cyprus due to post he had shared on the social media on new year's day, fashion designer Barbaros Şansal has been subjected to a lynch attempt after leaving the plane in Atatürk Airport in İstanbul.
Brought to İstanbul on the flight of Türkish Airlines (THY) at 8.55 p.m., Şansal was taken into custody by police getting on the plane after landing.
The assaulters have first attacked Şansal accompanied by police out of the plane verbally, later surrounded and beaten him.
It has been reported that most of the assaulters were airport staff on duty in İstanbul Atatürk Airport.
Atorney Efkan Bolaç has announced on Twitter that Şansal's health condition was well in general and that he had been kicked on his waist, inguinal region and kidneys as well as had scratches on his hands and the rest of his body.
Bolaç has added that Şansal had given testimony in the Police Station and would appear before the prosecution today (January 3).
Fashion designer Barbaros Şansal had shared a video on social media saying "Are you still celebrating the new year while so many journalists are under arrest, so many children are being harassed and raped, there is so much fraud, bribery and bigots share crap on the streets together with religious annunciators".
