SP organized an anti-war demonstration in the Rize Municipality Park Monday to protest the United States' possible military operation against Iraq.
"They are bargaining over the life of Turkish soldiers"
Around 200 SP supporters who attended the demonstration, held banners that said, "Murderer America" "America, leave our country," and "No war." The crowd also chanted slogans against the U.S. and Israel.
"Some people are bargaining with the U.S. over the life of the Turkish soldiers," said Bekaroglu during his speech at the demonstration. "They will bargain over the life of Turkish soldiers and get money in return. The weapon companies that got Bush elected, now want him to start a war so that they can sell their weapons. They want to sell weapons by killing Muslims." (BB/EA/NM)
