Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmuş has said that they would initiate a legal action against those who were determined to drink alcohol in the camping site where Republican People's Party's (CHP Justice Congress has been held.
In the written statement he issued, Kurtulmuş stated that the congress was allowed to be held on the condition of "respecting the historical peninsula" and said all the responsibility concerning the matter was taken by the CHP due to the written agreement.
Telling that they "expect the CHP to call those people to account", Kurtulmuş announced that they would initiate a legal action against them.
What happened?
Justice and Development Party (AKP) MP and Deputy Group Chair Bülent Turan shared a video displaying some people drinking and dancing at the congress area and wrote: "The CHP is seeking 'Justice' at full speed in the place of our 250,000 martyrs!"

Response by the CHP
Issuing a statement following Turan's posts, CHP Vice Chair and Party Spokesperson Bülent Tezcan said that they "immediately inspected the matter and determined that some people drank alcohol outside of the main camping site. These three people were immediately taken out of the camping site".
Turan also added that proceedings to discharge the three people would start by tomorrow (August 29). (EA/DG)
