Vice Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson Numan Kurtulmuş has noted that the works for visa waiver continued.
“The negotiations between the EU and Turkey is an important one. [...] we are also of the opinion that the promises made by the EU are not just empty ones. Suspending the Readmission Agreement is not on our agenda”.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as to the issue had said earlier; “If a conclusion is reached in these negotiations, it’s fine. Yet if not, with all due respect, the Parliament of the Turkish Republic will not pass any decision regarding the implementation process of the Agreement”.

“Negotiations with the EU continue”
Numan Kurtulmus making important statements as to the agenda following the cabinet meeting yesterday (May 6) has said the following in short;
“Now it’s EU’s turn to fulfill its responsibilities. I assume that the EU will act transparently by taking Turkey which has fulfilled so many responsibilities of its own into consideration.
“The negotiations are proceeding on a technical level. Our EU and Foreign Affairs Ministers continue their works. Some negotiations will be pursued as a follow up of the meetings in Brussels. We will do our part to make the process result in a positive way”.

“Relocating cities are not on the agenda”
“The fight against terrorism was a very comprehensive battle, outside of the borders and in the cities. Our security forces act in a way which ever is necessary depending on the area. If there are such elements against the state and citizens in rural areas, this struggle will proceed in determination. The fight against terrorism and the process regarding the reconstruction of the cities continues anyway.
“Relocating certain cities is not a topic on our agenda. The most important part of the battle against terrorism has been completed. The fight will continue in the remaining places”. (YY/DG)
