Straight out from ICU, HDP’s newly elected co-chair Ertuğrul Kürkçü gave his first message to bianet. “It [my health issue] was a little trick of the nature,” he said.
Kürkçü was hospitalized after a feeling of unrest at the 1st Non-Regular Congress of Peoples’ Democratic Party in Ankara yesterday. He was put through an angiogram. At the end of a 30 minute intervention, doctors replaced his heart stent that was inserted in 2004.
“I am on my duty. I am returning with a renewed heart.” HDP Co-Chair Ertuğrul Kürkçü told bianet. He was selected as HDP’s new co-chair.
From early afternoon yesterday, Kürkçü’s friends, co-workers and beloved ones have anxiously waited at the hospital.
Around 4pm local time, he was discharged from the ICU, a news that was received with a great satisfaction. Doctors also made a statement, saying that Kürkçü’s health situation was normalizing and he was soon to be discharged.
