Reyhan Abdi, a Kurdish woman from Syria, was yesterday (August 29) arrested for "being a member of a terrorist organization."
After three days in detention, she was put in prison with her two-year-old child. She also has two other children aged three and four.
Abdi had migrated to Türkiye with her family five years ago.
The Freedom for Lawyers Association (ÖHD) said there was "no evidence" against her in the case file.
"Our client has suffered heavy psychological damage and her milk has dried up," said the association.
According to the Justice Ministry's response to a parliamentary question on November 21, there were 340 children and 780 toddlers with their mothers in Türkiye's prisons. (EMK/VK)
