Çiftçi, who was detained as part of investigations launched in Ankara and Batman, initially gave a statement within the scope of the investigation opened based on the statements of the secret witness Ulaş in Ankara, the Mezopotamya Agency reported.
Connected to the Diyarbakır Courthouse through the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS), Çiftçi was accused based on the statements made by the secret witness Ulaş. She was questioned in relation to her cultural and art activities for "membership in an organization" and "leading an organization." Çiftçi was referred to the Criminal Judge for Arrest on duty.
Reason for detention: "Suspicion of escape"
Çiftçi was questioned at the Criminal Judge's office on duty in Ankara through SEGBİS and was arrested. Her detention was justified by the statements of the secret witness, MASAK Financial Analysis reports, Call Detail Records (CDRs) analysis reports, and her hotel accommodations, related to her cultural and art activities. The reasons cited for arresting her included "suspicion of escape and tampering with evidence," as well as the fact that the accusations were covered under the "catalog crimes" listed in Article 100 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CMK).
Urgent surgery needed
Health reports indicating that Çiftçi has uterine cancer and needs urgent surgery were also presented to the court by herself and her lawyers. Although it was stated that Çiftçi was being treated at the Bağlar State Hospital and had a fixed residence, the judge decided to order her detention.
Çiftçi also suffers from thyroid disease.
