Ferhat Tunç, a significant name in protest music, has produced "Kobane", a new video clip, following the an earlier one he produced for the Ankara massacre recently.
Tunç: The world breathed a sigh with the courage in Kobane
Musician Ferhat Tunç, has prepared a video clip which portrays the courage resistance of Kobane, on the anniversary on 1 November of World Kobane Day. Tunç, invited artist communites to promote the victory and hope in humanity, emphasizing that the world has taken a breath with the Kobane resistance fighters.
The result of this significant resistance which continued house by house, street by street and neighbourhood by neighbourhood for 134 days was a relentless struggle against ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) gangs and an inspiration to the free spirit of humanity against darkness.
This resistance story observed by the world has not gone unnoticed by artists and musicians. Musician Ferhat Tunc, who was in Kobane during the ISIS siege, portrays this struggle in his new clip. Tunc, who was filmed by Ferhat Arslan during his visit to Kobane, has included this footage in the production of his Kobane clip. The musician who is also an activist in his daily life, reminds us of this historical resistance and those who have lost their lives in this struggle.
Let's complete the resistance story via artistic expression
In relation to the video clip, Tunc expressed the following: "We produced this work in memory of the youth whose laughter was greeted under and gifted to the rainbow. Through their smiles and courage the world has breathed a sigh. To remember these beautiful people is a conscientious sensitivity. As a musician, I have only played a small part. If a painter plays a part, a poet another, then this resistance story can be completed." (HK/TK)
