Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu have met at the CHP Headquarters.
A joint statement has been delivered following the 1-hour meeting.
Kılıçdaroğlu: We are concerned of the Statutory Decrees
Kılıçdaroğlu said he conveyed his concerns of the Statutory Decrees (KHK).
“Our talks will continue through the upcoming period”.
Yıldırım: I informed as to the Statutory Decrees
“Since the beginning of the State of Emergency (OHAL), I filled him in as to the KHK details”, said Yıldırım.
“He shared his concerns and sensitivities regarding this matter.
“Both us and the Mr. Chair will take this matter into consideration in terms of both what has been done till now and what will be done in future.
“Our talks will continue within this frame. It is important to rapidly remove the conditions that have given birth to the OHAL”.
New constitution
PM Yıldırım noted that one person each from the AKP, CHP and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) will be assigned for preparing new constitution.
“The AKP, CHP and MHP will each assign one person. They will carry out a work as to the scope and number of it and report to the party chairs”. (YY/TK)
