Attorneys of Osman Kavala, a businessperson and human rights defender who has been remanded in custody since November 1, 2017, have appealed against a court decision for the continuation of his arrest and requested the recusation of the judge.
Kavala was not released in the hearing on December 24 despite an ECtHR decision. The court stated that it was not notified of the decision, rejecting all requests for the lifting of judicial control measures.
