On 9th death anniversary of assassinated Armenian journalist, Agos weekly Chief Editor, Hrant Dink, a two-hour Justice and Peace watch was kept in front of Agos’ former building.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) İstanbul MP, Garo Paylan was among those attending the watch.

In the watch, Maritsa Küçük killed in Samatya, Sevag Balıkçı killed at the age of 24 while doing his mandatory military service, Berkin Elvan murdered by gas cartridge shot by police in Gezi protests, Dilek Doğan murdered by police officers in the raid against her house in Küçükarmutlu, and human rights defender, lawyer Tahir Elçi killed following his press statement in Diyarbakır on November 26 have been commemorated with Dink.
In the commemoration where a theater play was staged aside from commemoration speeches, Sayat Teker from Nor Zartonkt made a speech in Armenian and Turkish.
Tekir: Armenians now want justice and truth
Tekir saying “It is now very rare to hear Armenian”, said “However, the justice hasn’t been achieved and other people have been murdered as well” in his speech in which he reminded that they have been waiting for justice for nine years.
Kalk: We will continue the struggle despite pressures
The statement was read by Alex Kalk on behalf of callers of the watch.
“The darkness which ‘carved a murderer out of a baby’ in nine years has grown from day to day by feeding on hatred and blood. This 100-year-long nightmare climate has taken away our loved ones from us in mass massacres in Roboski, Gezi, Soma, Suruç, and Ankara”, said Kalk.
Kalk reminding of the curfews lasting in Kurdistan added that they will continue to call [those who are responsible] for account for massacre and genocides.
The watch lasting two hours ended with the slogan, “We are all Hrant, we are all Armenia”. (EA/TK)
