Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will start a march from Ankara to İstanbul in reaction to arrest of CHP MP Enes Berberoğlu.
Kılıçdaroğlu announced the march on CNN Türk last night (June 14). The march, which will start from Güvenpark in Ankara at 11 a.m., will advance towards Maltepe Prison in İstanbul in which Berberoğlu is imprisoned.
Kılıçdaroğlu declared that he would march with a banner reading “Justice”.
Berberoğlu was sentenced to 25 years in prison in the suit brought into “MİT Trucks Report” published on Cumhuriyet Newspaper.
Barriers around the park
State-run Anadolu Agency reported that the park has been encircled with barriers. Security check points have been set for body search.
Riot squad forces have been deployed to the marching route and around Günvepark and Kızılay. (BK/TK)
