As many as 600 hazelnut manufacturers joined the march, which has been organized by the Republican People’s Party (CHP).
Hazelnut Manufacturers’ Union (Fındık-Sen) Chair Kutsi Yaşar said that the Soil Products Office (TMO) will buy the products at around 10-10.5 TL (2.5 Euros), there is very little difference between this amount and the cost account, the purchase price dropped to 8 TL already in the free market, and even though the TMO declared that it would buy all the hazelnuts, the purchases were full until November.
Yaşar added that the manifacturers expect a revision in the prices and that they demand the TMO that it implement graduated price policy for the upcoming months. (BK/TK)
