BirGün daily newspaper reporter Zeynep Kuray was detained in a house raid by Anti-Terror teams at 10 p.m. last night (October 25), and was taken to İstanbul Security Directorate.
Speaking to bianet, Kuray's lawyer Tamer Doğan stated that the search warrant shown to them read "Facebook posts" as the pretext of the accusation. Doğan underlined that previously it read "social media posts" as the cause in similar investigations.
Kuray was charged with "propagandizing for a terror organization" due to her Facebook posts.
Police seized Kuray's computer and cell phone during the search.
Doğan also stated they found odd the police bringing a Shortland vehicle called "Scorpion" to take a journalist into custody.
Kuray will be taken to İstanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan to be deposed today, said Doğan.
Doğan also added that Kuray would go to the prosecutor's office is summoned and she also told it to police.
Zeynep Kuray was detained in an operation called "KCK" (Kurdistan Communities Union) on December 20, 2011, and was arrested four days later. Kuray was released on April 26, 2013. (AS/TK)
