Taken into custody in a raid on her house in Cizre district in Turkey's Kurdish-majority southeastern province of Şırnak on February 14, 2022, Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporter Zeynep Durgut's statement was taken at the security directorate yesterday (February 16).
Held in the Cizre Counterterrorism Department, Durgut's journalism activities were questioned based on "anonymous witness" statements. During the interrogation, the journalist was also asked questions about the news that she had shared on her social media accounts.
With the related procedures completed at the security directorate yesterday, she is expected to be referred to the Şırnak Prosecutor's Office today for her statement to be taken at the prosecutor's office.
